This year, the annual TEDx Cairo University will be held on April 28 at the 57357 Cancer Hospital. The event is an offshoot of the infamous TED talks which began in 1984 as an annual conference for technology, entertainment and design.
The conference quickly evolved to cover a wide variety of topics from science, business, the environment, and innovative solutions to everyday problems as well as a variety of global issues.
The TEDx program was initiated in 2009 with the objective to impact more people and communities, with the Cairo University version being awarded a license to conduct conferences under the auspices of the TEDx brand.
This year’s event, titled ‘Metanoia,’ is one which encourages change in all its facets. The ancient Greek word refers to a change of direction, whether it is mentally, emotionally, or consciously -and that is what this year’s TEDx Cairo University Conference is all about.
