Mamma Mia’s Prequel is Coming out and We Can’t Wait!

We have to admit that we all love prequels; nothing beats a movie that takes you back to the very beginning of the story! 10 years after the debut of the first Mamma Mia movie, ‘Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again’ is finally hitting theaters on 20 July.

This summer we get to know the story that led to the events of the 2008 musical romcom, which instantly stirred feelings of nostalgia among audiences when it first came out. This time around, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is pregnant. Scared and confused, she wants to learn what happened when her mom Donna (Meryl Streep) was pregnant with her so she asks her three dads about what happened in 1979 .

The movie continues in flashback, telling us the story of young Donna (Lily James) and how she came to the island, how she got pregnant with Sophie, and her story with the three dads. The movie will feature the entire original cast, with singer Cher playing the grandma for an added musical twist!

Written and directed by OI Parker, we have no doubt that this hilarious romcom is going to be just as successful as its first version!
