HEPCA and Local Divers Clean Magawish Island

On Monday 23 July the Hurghada Environment Protection and Conservation Association (HEPCA) organized a campaign to clean up Magawish Island in Hurghada, Egypt.

The Island, which is very important for marine life in Egypt, also serves as a spot for migratory birds. While it has always been clean, pollutants such as plastic bags and bottles found their way to the island through the water coming from surrounding beaches.

HEPCA teamed up with local diving centers and volunteers, and together they removed the trash from the water and the beach to dispose of the proper way.
