Dandorma Planet: "Recharging Happiness" One Donut Cone at a Time

Tucked away in the quieter portion of street 9 in Maadi, DandoramaPlanet is one of those places that instantly make you do a double take. With a small sign saying “Recharge Your Happiness” and cheerful, unique décor, this place could easily be mistaken for an entrance to a small theme park.

Because of this enigmatic appearance, we walked in and decided to give it a shot. We sat down; waiting to see what the menus would offer –and we weren’t disappointed.

Dandorma Planet’s signature dessert is ice cream served in their special donut dough ice cream cone, which has proven to be the perfect mix of refreshing ice cream and gooey, mouth-watering donuts. But be warned; this decadent dish is so addictive that you might find yourself immediately wanting more!

If you’re in the mood for an equally delicious but lighter option, the owners mix their vanilla ice cream with flavors and syrups to create their very own flavors and then serve it in the form of ice cream rolls –giving you the ideal treat now that summer is coming in at full swing.

Fear not, chocolate addicts, they haven’t forgotten about you! They also offer chocolate pizza and nutella rolls, made entirely of natural ingredients. They also have a variety of other more traditional desserts, including waffles and chocolate fondue.

If you’ve got tears in your eyes by now, let us assure you that they’ve got a healthier waffle option for people who are on a diet. Their protein waffle is made of whey protein, oatmeal and honey, so you can indulge guilt-free.

Some of the tables feature a cozier seating arrangement, so you can go there on a quiet morning to finish up some last minute studying or working over a cup of Turkish coffee. While their coffee selection was not as extensive as we would have hoped, they offer a few good options for when you need a caffeine fix.

One of the great things about Dandorma Planet is that their desserts aren’t overly pricy; you can tell that the prices were set reasonably based on the ingredients and effort required, unlike many other dessert places nowadays that set sky-high prices for no reason.

Our overall verdict is that this place is highly recommended –friendly décor, fun seating and awesome desserts. Looks like they weren’t kidding when they said they’d recharge your happiness!

Recommendation: Try the donut cone with raspberry ice cream –it’s addictive!
