15 Cars You Didn't Know Existed in Egypt

A Hemi Cuda, a Chevelle, & a 69 Camaro parked next to eachother in Horreya garden, Zamalek.

While most of us are always trying to purchase the latest cars and carry the impression of old cars being the ancient taxi cabs we see in very poor conditions, or the 128's who are always broken down, there is another type of old cars, which we're sure you would love.

Last weekend, two different events were hosted for those who appreciate the nicely restored classics, some of which we never thought we would see in real life. Here are our 15 top picks:

1- 1955–1957 Ford Thunderbird

This car was built by Ford to become a luxury Tourer, it could hit speeds of up to 120 Mph. Talk about Grease Lightning.

2- 1969 Chevrolet Camaro

This iconic American muscle car is just gorgeous, her owner has equipped her with all your Hollywood fantasies!

3- 1961 Chevrolet Impala Coupe

This perfectly maintained piece has Elvis written all over it.

4- 1969 Dodge Charger

This masterpiece is the only one we've seen in Egypt. It was dubbed 'General Lee' in the movie Dukes of Hazard. It is in a perfect condition and has the perfect roaring sound, take another look at this angry face.

5- Those 4 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagodas

We honestly never thought we'd see those in Egypt. These cars were not as popular back in the day as they are now, as if they were designed for the future. Check out this fourth one.

And just to give you a gist of how it would look like to ride one, we made sure to include this next picture.

6- 1961–75 Jaguar E-type

Don't you wish they replaced every broken car in Cairo's traffic with this beauty? A very rare car and a very nice collectible item, we salute the owner.

7- Benz 220S from the 60's

We just love this car, it is so perfectly restored, we would want to get stuck in traffic behind it all day, every day. Here's a look of what its interior looks like.

This interior belongs to another 220S also present in the same event.

You probably have seen this car from the first Hangover movie, they kept mentioning how fond they were of it. They should have treated it better than they did.

8- 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air

Just look at how shiny this front bumper is, such a beauty.

9- 1969 Fast Back Ford Mustang

Who would have thought to see such a beautiful pony car rolling on the streets of Cairo. Why do we only get to admire these beautiful gems in events like these? Here's another rear shot.

10- Third Gen Chevrolet Corvette

Not one, but two Corvettes in one place. We must be dreaming.

11- Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

This German sports car did not arrive in quantities to Egypt, this one has had one owner and has a Porsche engine in its truck, such a work of art.

12- 1945-1948 Jaguar Mark IV

Who knew that those British wonders were strolling around Cairo.

13- 1964 - 1966 First Gen Ford Mustang

Yes, this is the famous Mustang driven by Yehya El Menesy, played by Basel Khayat in Tareeqi Ramadan series starring Sherine, which was set in Egypt's 1970s.

14- 1970 Buick Riviera

It is as stunning from the inside as it is from the outside, take a look.

15- 1970 Dodge Challenger Resto Mod

Every young man's dream, a true custom American muscle car with modern looks and parts. Just perfect, thank you Mr. owner!
